Dr. Sheel Tangri moved from Victoria, Canada to Samara in 2005. He has been a contributor to the Samara music scene since then, forming several rock bands as well as participating in open mics and other musical endeavors in the area.
His professional life is as a specialist in Chiropractic Kinesiology (www.drsheel.com). Even though Sheel travels extensively, he built his home base in Samara, along with a music studio since he plays many instruments as well as sings.
In his college days he wrote and produced 4 different mini albums under the stage name Highway Face in which he wrote all of the parts and played almost all of the vocals and instruments. He sold many copies in the universities and had radio attention, so in 2001 he re-recorded his music in a studio and made a CD entitled Doin’ It All.
The song Here was spontaneously written on a classical guitar when Sheel came home from a night out at 19 years of age. He wrote and recorded the original version in about 2 hours and it had a haunting tone to match the lyrics, which questioned the reality of whether we really die or if we are always “here”. He is happy to have the opportunity to re-record this song with Tamtam Productions, as it is one of his favorites and was not recorded for the Doin’ It All CD.
